History
1955 – Founding
Established in Valencia, State of Carabobo, Venezuela, was organized in 1955 with the support of four companies: Celanese, Firestone, Goodyear, and U.S. Rubber. These companies provided the initial capital.
1958 – First Campus Building
A ten-classroom school was constructed in El Trigal, a residential sector of Valencia. During the 1962-63 school year, a library, four classrooms, showers and dressing rooms.
1968 – High School Building Opens
The High School building was constructed and opened for classes on September 2, 1968. The building consisted of two science laboratories, a computer laboratory, classrooms, a lounge, and offices. The High School library, constructed in 1968 and renovated in 2006.
1980s – Middle School and Cafeteria Added
A “comedor” and Middle School were added during the early 1980s.
1988 – Recreational Facility
A multi-purpose recreational building was completed in August of 1988. Most recently, two annexes, a lower primary building, a second Middle School level, and a maintenance complex were added in the mid-1990s.
2004-2006 – Interactive Nature Trail
Between 2004 and 2006, an Interactive Nature Trail was built behind the Elementary and North Annex buildings. This project includes a Dino Dig, a Tropical Mural, an Aquatic Habitat, Outdoor Classrooms, and a Canopy Tower.
2008-2011 – Mother’s Club
During the 2008–2009 school year, the Mothers Club led a successful campaign to provide new chairs for classrooms across all grade levels. In the summer of 2010, air conditioning units were installed throughout the school.
Recent – Modern Learning Facilities
Most recently, the Joe Houston Walker Cafeteria was enclosed and equipped with climate control, providing a more comfortable environment for students and staff. In addition, a new Education Immersion Center (EIC) was constructed, offering a dynamic space where students engage in complex missions using 21st-century skills and cutting-edge educational technology.
2025 – Auditorium & ERC
During the summer of 2025, the auditorium underwent renovations. An air conditioning system was installed, transforming it into a fully enclosed, climate-controlled space. Additionally, the EIC was converted into the Engineering Robotics Center (ERC), marking a significant upgrade in the school’s facilities.
